The festivals and tournaments all take place at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex on various Sundays through the winter season. Dates are listed on the above website.

The U10 and U12 teams take part in 4 festivals and one end-of-season tournament. The U14 teams take part in 3 festivals.

Festivals are basically friendly tournaments in which our team is placed into a group with 3 or 4 other local clubs. Our participation in a Festival takes about 2½ hours on those Sundays, sometimes in the morning, sometimes in the afternoons. Whilst we celebrate our match results in what is obviously a competitive sport, the Festivals are very much about having fun and developing the children's hockey skills.

The end-of-season Tournament is an all-day event. There is a group stage in the morning where our teams each plays 3 other clubs. Depending on those results, the team then plays in the Shield or Plate knockout stage in the afternoon. In 2022, our U10s won the Plate Tournament.

League Matches

During the 2023/24 season, we entered a boys' team into the 11-a-side West Hockey Tier 3 league and we intend to do the same thing again during the 2024/25 season. This gives them about 6 full length, full pitch games on various Sundays during the season.

We don't currently have enough girls to do this, so we can only enter them into the 7-a-side festivals as mentioned above.

Availability for matches

As matches come up, we will normally sent you a reminder via Pitchero to ask you to confirm whether your child can play in the match. A week or so before a match, we will confirm who is playing which will trigger a notification to you and this will require you to confirm your child's selection.

We try our best to make sure that everyone who is available to play in a match is selected. If this isn't possible, we will make sure that they are selected for the next match.
